On Its Way | Road To Porty Is On The Road To Porty

All important journeys have key moments. For Mike and Fiona, their wedding next week will be a key moment in their lives. For the Road to Porty beer, receiving its visual identity was a big day.

Craig MacFadyen – the bass player in Mike’s band – demonstrated wonderful imagination and great patience in designing the labels for the bottles of Road to Porty. His creative skills and personal relationship with Mike and Fiona mean that the presentation of the beer will now be extra special. Mike and Fiona’s dog, Murphy, even makes an appearance on the back label – an idea proposed by my brother, Oisín.

As is the norm in most small breweries, each label was applied painstakingly by hand.

We used adhesive labels with a high quality material to ensure the bottle has all the sparkle expected of a wedding gift.

ROAD TO PORTY ON THE ROAD

We are really keen to make sure there are no accidents along the way so we went a bit overboard when packaging with bubblewrap.

The beers will *fingers crossed* hopefully arrive in Portobello in a few days time. Given that there won’t be enough beer to be served at the wedding itself, Mike and Fiona are organising a private tasting of the beer for friends and family. If you’re going along to the wedding and don’t want to miss out on tasting it, you’ll have to get in touch with them to find out when and where this is because there won’t be a drop left for you at the wedding meal itself.

The bottles of Road to Porty are on the Road to Porty.

I just hope they make it there in one piece.
