On 1 February 2007, Café Den Herberg—“The Inn Café”—opened in Buizingen. Herbergs are buildings historically associated with providing weary travellers and their horses with lodging, food, and drink. This particular one now has a small brewery located in a converted garage beside the café, opened in 2008 by the family who owns Den Herberg: seven siblings and their parents who work as musicians, speech therapists, tilers, engineers, and more recently, as café owners, brewers, and innkeepers. When you’re looking for hidden beers, establishments like these offer a good way inn.
